No Title

I drafted a blog a week ago that will never be released. In the time since then and since my last writing so much magic has occurred for my family. My desire to be heartfelt and transparent requires more intimate interactions so this will be my final posting.

This past Saturday marked 32 years around the SUN for me ✨✨✨ The following day I had a beautiful home birth of our smallest Princess Layali words can’t express the joy of that experience or adding her to our lives.

Living in the moment and reflecting simultaneously is the best description of the space of time I Liv in. I’m elated about the growth of my family and receiving the manifestations of experiences that I have prayed for.

I am more motivated now then I have ever been before to move boldly in the direction of my passions.

WELove Art

We will pop up on some art! The fam and I love to be apart of and decipher the beauty of experimental art. The Hirshhorn blessed us today with Ann Hamilton’s What Absence is Made Of. Also not to be missed is the work of Ai Wei Wei. Kids and adults will love the powerful Lego art and the wallpaper pieces make for great conversations. Get there before 2018!

Another favorite piece on display is called “Five Day Forecast”….. this will be a little scavenger hunt… Find it and let me know how you felt.

Halloween 2017

Last week after school Halloween began for our family! I picked up Princess Elena of Avalon and we head right over to NOMA to enjoy a Pumpkin Palooza!

We have been attending for the last few years and it’s amazing how this community event has grown tremendously in attendance numbers!

Next up… we enjoyed some weekday funnin at Catholic University! Both kids were official NASA astronauts ( it was so cold baby boy didn’t get to show off his shirt…. but he did trick or treat…. for me 😜 because I mean let’s be honest…. I can’t let my precious baby eat candy yet!) The kids had a blast! The students worked hard and were so kind to the attendees! They served pizza and snacks, had a trick or treat trail with fun costumes all around. Tons of games and activities, face paint and two moon bounces on a large field that was highly decorated for all to enjoy! We will definitely be back next year!

Three days into Halloween and it’s time to hit the Halloween streets! Crowded per usual! Fun costumes and a bucket full of goodies.

Are anyone else’s kids obsessed with The Descendants Movie? Liv/Uma was pumped to get all suited up and debut her outfit!

The weekend was also filled with parties cue: Beyoncé “We Like to Party” ….. and

Halloween has not even officially arrived!

Daddy playing wingman to our little “ladies man”.

We have a few more events to attend to finish off our Halloween season ( I miiiight update this post to include them)

Happy Candy Day 🎃

WELove Playing in the Rain

No matter the weather my little humans like to stay busy! Baby boy is walking now so a climate controlled adventure space where the kids can climb and laugh as loud as their hearts desire is perfect when it's messy outside!

Mommy win!
We played at Skillzone until the kids (read: Mommy) got tired!

Where are you guys playing this summer?

WeLove Nature

DC outdoors is so good!

It’s so amazing to live in a area that provides such a diverse entertainment scene. From the free museums , to swanky little restaurants to the ah- mazing outdoors DC does not lack “things to do”. Fletcher’s Cove is such a wonderful experience in Georgetown.

Fishing, canoeing and the beautiful opportunity to connect with what matters can all be experienced in this beautiful space.

C&O Canal has quite an interesting history so you just may learn something by taking a visit to this space.

Where does your family go to enjoy the outdoors?

Summa Summa Time

Summer like any season has been busy for us! Hopefully your following my social media accounts for all the moments I have not blogged about @ms_lynice

I just love these images from Liv’s day at Six Flags with her Aunt and FAVE cousins!
Liv waiting for her cousins to get off a “big kid ride”

Six Flags is a weekly activity for us but I’m really going to need them to provide healthier moderately priced healthy food options… Fried food and soda is not ital to maximize a hot day

WeLove Liv: Valentine’s 2015

The most loving girl deserves to know just how special she is so of course crafting her Valentines Day excitement had me squealing along the way! Here are a few highlights….
I’m gonna say enjoying a game at Georgetown University cheering on the girls basketball team is very much “our thing” at this point! Uber cold out but our princess was adamant about attending

For the first time we enjoyed a Build & Grow Workshop at Lowes and it was a good time! My handy little princess was given a work kit to create a heart photo holder, an apron with personalized name card, pair of goggles. Upon completion she received a certificate and a patch for her handy work. Needless to say…. We shall return for upcoming workshops

How Do You ….Boo!?

How you Booing!? Hee Hee! I don’t even frequent the Wendy Williams Show ,but I couldn’t resist hearing her voice as I typed the opening line!
Anywho, what are you guys doing to celebrate the Fall! Don’t be stingy! Share Share Share 🙂
Last year we discovered Queen Anne Farm. This local natural practice farm is full of kind employees, small animals, tall beautiful sunflowers as well as some yummy cider in their little shop. This is a great farm to visit during the weekday and allow your child to grab the perfect pumpkin without having to wait until the weekend and be overwhelmed by the crowds. This farm is a wonderful setting for great family pictures!

Another don’t miss event is BOO at the Zoo! This event is sooo good! It’s hands down one of my favorite Halloween events to do as a family in this area. Any zoo lover would be stoked to attend. In addition to seeing the animals, families come out in a massive way to get their goodie bags filled to the brim with treats from Whole Foods, Mars chocolate company and literally so many others. (check my post on this event last year). The costumes are also very well thought out at this event so prepare to be wowed!

Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory

My family had an amazing time at the Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory. If you love ice cream this place is a must. Some time ago I purchased discounted admission tickets ,and children under 4 enter the museum free! I’m so glad we didn’t let our tickets expire.

The museum guides you through the family history of Turkey Hill allowing you to hop in their first ice cream delivery truck and watch a short movie about the ice cream factory. You are able to start to finish experience what it takes to make delicious ice cream and teas. There are cows to milk, quality control microscopes to determine if the milk is up to par, mixing and packaging stations where you can name and design your own package! You can even take a walk through the freezer, make a commercial and best of all…. UNLIMITED SAMPLES! The samples are a size of a scoop somy family was soooo full before we got to the Taste Lab! We were able to make our own pint sized flavor! This was a yummy experience for any ice cream lover!
Thanks to my love for snapping these great photos in between bites of ice cream 🙂
