For all of the parents that have an avid SPROUT fan in your home …. Let’s just say this momma gets the GOOOOOD Egg Award! Lol lately we have really been getting crafty at home and Liv is loving every creative moment of it! Below is a little inspiration of cool activities to keep your little one happy.
Pepperoni Pizza Balls with Marinara (excuse the messy marinara, eager eaters in my home lol)
Happy Monday People!
This morning my family enjoyed these “Christmas Tree” waffles made with mama’s love!
I was so excited to make these! It’s the little things that matter most! This was a wonderful cooking activity for little ones as well. My daughter loves cooking. The counting, colors and textures she gets to experience while creating are always a fun way to educate.
To prepare our meal we added some green dye to our waffle recipe
Ornaments: Fresh blueberries and strawberries drizzled with honey, a tiny dusting of powder sugar and a tree topper of cool whip
Tree stump: Bacon
Let me know how this idea goes over with your little elves 🙂
My little family really enjoys the holidays!
Sharing all the fun family traditions with your little makes everything even more special!
Most pumpkin patches are not open during the week to families which is pretty inconvenient … So discovering Queen Anne Farm so close to home and convientely open weekday hours was a blessing!
We love farms in general, the fresh food , novelty items, live stock and overall experience *sigh* these truly are the best moments.
Farm time is one of the rare times my family gets to disconnect from technology and just engulf ourselves in nature. We make an effort to appreciate these times as often as we can. Liv loaded into the little red wagon they had available and gazed at the chickens and other farm animals present, squealing and imitating their sounds. The bulk of our time was spent finding the best pumpkins of course. And yes pumpkinS because baby girl needed a big pumpkin and a tiny one as well. I swear she touched every pumpkin on the field 🙂
When she was satisfied with her selections. She also picked a sunflower to take home! We stopped in the little shop area for the neccessities yummy cider and pumpkin decorating kits!
So silly! And allll mine 🙂
If you love food then the Taste of DC 2013 is where you need to be!
As a native to the area shamefully there were landmark eats that I had never even sampled such as Ben’s Chilli Bowl ( I know …I know) ,but after attending the event last year I’m totally locked in to a few new restaurants that I can’t live without. In general it’s a really good time with food and freebies.
The event will be held October 12-13, noon until 7 pm daily

Nom Nom Nom! Who ‘s Coming?
Who doesn’t love the joy of some good mail. Liv and I literally squeal and anticipate our little gifts in the mail. Recently liv received her first Citrus Lane package!
Citrus Lane is an exciting way for parents to try out amazing new products. Based on your profile data entered you will be sent items appropriate for your child’s sex and age group! I am always interested in fun, yummy or natural goods so between conversation and research those are my typical ways of discovering new things. With this unique service they bring the best things right to your mailbox. Each month is a new surprise and we can’t wait for our next package.
I usually like to decorate my pumpkins, not eat them…. However! This past weekend baby and I sampled the most wonderful pumpkin dip paired with some crunchy apples! So deliciously light and tasty. Since Liv’s taste buds are in agreement I will be sure to put this recipe in rotation this fall. The recipe details can be found here
Literally you can’t tell me and my daughter that we aren’t certified Chef’s.
Starting with the matching aprons to the finished product of yummy goodness… In our mind we are world renowned. I’m on a quest to replace some of our old habit dishes with much healthier alternatives.
Since my third trimester of pregnancy I have fallen so far off the vegan wagon that I rarely recognize myself at the dinner table. Healthy living is important to me and setting the proper dietary example for Liv is crucial in ensuring she has the right nutritional routine.
So for today’s tasty victory….. *drum roll please* One ingredient “ice cream” made ONLY with bananas!
The simple instructions are as follows:
*Grab some ripe bananas (ours were spotted…. Which is a great way to get full use of your fruit since at my home if they aren’t yellow the usually get neglected)
*Slice the bananas
*Place them on a lined baking sheet
*Pop them in the freezer uncovered
*Once frozen use whatever blending device you have ( I used my Nutribullet)
*At this point you have your finished product ( you may have to stir it up to give a good blend)
The ” ice cream” is a soft serve texture at this point. If you desire a harder more scoopable version just pop the blended soft serve “ice cream” in the freezer again.
This recipe is simple, kidfriendly, healthy and oh so yummy!
For my scoop I added chocolate chips and walnuts! I can’t explain how excited we are to have this delicious and inexpensive dairy alternative treat.
