Last week after school Halloween began for our family! I picked up Princess Elena of Avalon and we head right over to NOMA to enjoy a Pumpkin Palooza!
We have been attending for the last few years and it’s amazing how this community event has grown tremendously in attendance numbers!
Next up… we enjoyed some weekday funnin at Catholic University! Both kids were official NASA astronauts ( it was so cold baby boy didn’t get to show off his shirt…. but he did trick or treat…. for me 😜 because I mean let’s be honest…. I can’t let my precious baby eat candy yet!) The kids had a blast! The students worked hard and were so kind to the attendees! They served pizza and snacks, had a trick or treat trail with fun costumes all around. Tons of games and activities, face paint and two moon bounces on a large field that was highly decorated for all to enjoy! We will definitely be back next year!
Three days into Halloween and it’s time to hit the Halloween streets! Crowded per usual! Fun costumes and a bucket full of goodies.
Are anyone else’s kids obsessed with The Descendants Movie? Liv/Uma was pumped to get all suited up and debut her outfit!
The weekend was also filled with parties cue: Beyoncé “We Like to Party” ….. and
Halloween has not even officially arrived!
Daddy playing wingman to our little “ladies man”.
We have a few more events to attend to finish off our Halloween season ( I miiiight update this post to include them)
Happy Candy Day 🎃
Was anyone else at the Bowie International Festival this weekend? Liv had a play date at the festival and it was really a good time for the little ones! They were greeted with a “passport” that they were to take around to about ten participating tables for stamps and activities. The kids were able to make jewelry, make kites, create a book all about themselves, have their name written in Asian writing, pet and learn about various animals , track butterfly migration and many other cool activities. Once their passport was full the kids were able to receive two rewards of their choice! (How Awesome Right!) This event was pet friendly of course because it was at the park and the playgrounds are always key in running some energy out of a energetic toddler! Unfortunately, we missed the African dance performance earlier in the event but we did get a front row seat at the Asian dance performance. This group of kids have performed for President Obama’s inauguration in the past and their display of moves with the dragon they maneuvered together was impressive!
What festivals are on your calendar?
We Love Union Market! This Saturday they are hosting Kids Food Fest which will be a fun time focusing on healthy family meals, and we are so there!
Where: Union Market 1309 5TH STREET NE, WASHINGTON, DC, 20002
Metro stop: Red Line, Noma-Galludet
When: Nov. 2 & 3 10:00 am- 5:00 pm
Cost: Free event
National Children’s Museum at National Harbor is always a good place for the kids to get some energy out! Sunday they will partner with Kids Euro Fest for a dance program 11am-12
We are members here , and I’m debating getting another membership for 2014… The Baltimore Port Discovery location has so much more to engage with. However, the outdoor experience will be open soon and we are excited about that. Also, the discounts with partner museums make the membership worthwhile.
We usually spend quite a bit of time down at the harbor when we go. Across the street is Oxon Hill Farm which is great to visit and enjoy the animals. They also have a picnic area if you want to enjoy a little packed lunch.
Happy Weekend! What do you guys have planned?
